The team behind the Game of Thrones franchise is reportedly developing a spinoff series as well as a live theatre production to celebrate its 10th anniversary.

The award-winning author and HBO had already announced a 10-episode spin-off House of Dragon, which will serve as a prequel to the original television series set 300 years before

IT WAS the biggest, most-anticipated show in the world but now, almost no one wants to talk about Game of Thrones.

HBO, however, feels otherwise and is celebrating the show’s 10th anniversary dubbed as “The Iron Anniversary” by inviting HBO GO subscribers to revisit the series and the release of new behind-the-scene documentaries all happening this month.

HBO’s Game of Thrones is a show version of George R.R. Martin’s A Song of Ice and Fire novel saga.

Millions worldwide anticipated each episode that international fans pushed for a simultaneous airing in fears of being behind the news and avoiding spoilers on the internet.

As the show progressed, the fans started to see that the showrunners, David Benioff and D. B. Weiss, are adding more original content than adapting directly from the novels.

Game of Thrones slowly slid down the ratings from 97% in season 4 to 55% in the finale season 8.

Allegedly, Benioff and Weiss wanted to speed up the ending to pursue other projects which led to a finale full of inconsistencies, teleporting characters, forgotten plot points, and more. Not even diehard fans wish to rewatch it again.

Only Martin still believes in HBO which is why he signed into a five-year contract to continue exploring the fantasy genre but with brand new stories beyond his A Song of Ice and Fire book series.

Before the signing, the award-winning author and HBO had already announced a 10-episode spin-off House of Dragon, which will serve as a prequel to the original television series set 300 years before.

Filming and production start on May 2021 with hopes to release in 2022.

Additionally, verified reports announce that Martin is also developing a live stage play to debut on Broadway, West End, and Australia in 2023.

While new shows and a theater play is all well and fun, fans are still pushing Martin to finish the sixth book in the novel series in hopes of understanding the true ending.

Martin says the book, The Winds of Winter, will likely be finished this year.

For fans who followed the HBO series and read the books religiously, they will only forget Game of Throne’s problematic Season 8when Martin finally releases the book. (HD)
