From Paete, Laguna, the trio of directors Arman Reyes and Neal “Buboy” Tan and production girl Laine Pirote proceeded to Kamay ni Hesus, a famous pilgrimage atop a hill in Lucban, Quezon.

According to Arman who directed films like Lorna Tolentino’s “Dormitoryo,” Nora Aunor’s “Palengke Queen,” Halina Perez’s “Tukaan” etc., Neal and Laine tagged him along to the holy place to pray for the bad situation of the Philippines because of COVID-19 pandemic.

Reyes called for a prayer brigade among showbiz folks in these uncertain times. He had invoked before the giant image of the Lord:

“In the name of JESUS, and by the mighty power of the HOLY SPIRIT I rebuke and cancel Covid 19 Delta Variant from my home, my family, relatives, neighbors and friends!”

According to Arman that was his second time after eight years to pay the miraculous Kamay ni Hesus a visit.

“Instead of going to the Black Nazarene in Quiapo director Cesar Evangelista suggested that we go to Kamay ni Hesus instead to hear mass as a side trip to the location hunting for our Cinemalaya film ‘Amor Y Muerte’ in Barangay Anibong, Pagsanjan, Laguna. I was confident that at 73 I could still climb its steep steps,” he said.

Reyes is hopeful the Lord will listen to him to stop the spread of COVID-19 for all of us to return to normal life.
