BRWN band drummer Stanley Seludo is all out on helping other musicians displaced by the COVID-19 pandemic.

The support Stanley has been extending to displaced musicians is still on-going through Musikaramay, a non-profit organization designed to assist and promote the welfare of Filipino musicians especially the ones who are currently unemployed because of the still lingering contagion.

If Angel Locsin is the most philanthropic celebrity in the film industry by helping the needy and indigents who are victims of natural and man-made calamities, drummer of BRWN band Stanley Seludo is the most altruistic artist in the music scene especially during these trying times caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.

The support Stanley has been extending to displaced musicians is still on-going through Musikaramay, a non-profit organization designed to assist and promote the welfare of Filipino musicians especially the ones who are currently unemployed because of the still lingering contagion.

The “Good Band” concept through the formation of delivery service of essentials to clients is one revenue generating program spearheaded by Stanley and Musikaramay. The jobless musicians function as delivery servicemen who serenade the buyers which make the advocacy more colorful and meaningful.

Meanwhile, Seludo also encourages freelance bands and music artists to join “Kanto Canta,” an online band competition that could also enhance the lives of new and nameless artists.

“Kanto Canta” is a brainchild of Stanley under the umbrella project of the Committee on Artistic Matters of the Cultural Center of the Philippines (CCP) being chaired by singer, music educator and Seludo’s fellow CCP Board of Trustees Michelle Junia, also known as Nikki Junia.

According CCP and Stanley, the search will showcase original Filipino musical works, new songs, new music that incorporate traditional musical instruments in order to create a “new Pinoy sound.” It aims to discover a distinct Filipino music that could match the K-pop phenomenon.

The online band search is open to natural-born Filipinos who currently reside in the Philippines, 18 years old and above and with no existing professional and commercial entertainment contracts.

The submission period for the first quarter of “Kanto Canta” is from February 20 to March 20, 2021. From all the entries, pre-qualifiers will be chosen and posted in “Kanto Kultura” official social media pages. The top 15 finalists will be chosen and awarded with the prizes worth Php150,000.00.
