From August 6 to 8, players will be able to jump into this new concert/experience that will pair some of Ariana Grande's most popular tracks with "moments based on elements from the game."

Ariana Grande is the next artist who will host a concert in the online multiplayer game Fortnite.

She’s headlining “The Rift Tour,” a virtual “musical experience” within the game.

Grande is the latest artist to throw a musical event within Fortnite.

Travis Scott famously headlined a Fortnite event and debuted his Kid Cudi collaboration “The Scotts,” while Dominic Fike and J Balvin have also previously performed and debuted songs in the game.

Grande’s last album ‘Positions’ was released at the end of last year.

From August 6 to 8, players will be able to jump into this new concert/experience that will pair some of Ariana Grande's most popular tracks with "moments based on elements from the game."

Players will also be able to play this event side-by-side with friends when it arrives and everyone who participates will receive the Cuddly Cloudcruiser commemorative Umbrella.

There will be five shows between these two dates, and Epic Games recommends that fans arrive 60 minutes before showtime.

This will give them plenty of time to be ready to join the Rift Tour Playlist, which is scheduled to open up 30 minutes before each show.

“Fortnite is a place for the imagination and the impossible. With the Rift Tour, we’re bringing a musical journey to life that players can experience, feel, and join alongside their friends,” said Epic’s Head of Brand Phil Rampulla.

“We’re so grateful to have an iconic superstar like Ariana Grande and her team join us for a musical experience at metaverse scale, and for players and fans alike to experience the Rift Tour!”

Although Fortnite made its name as the ubiquitous battle royale shooter, in recent years it has begun to shift towards more peaceful events.

In addition to the aforementioned concerts, Fortnite has turned into a place where movie trailers are shown and events have featured crossovers with some of the biggest names in pop culture.

Most recently, Fortnite collaborated with the upcoming movie Suicide Squad and debuted the movie's character Bloodsport in the game.

This marked another installment in Epic Games' long-standing collaboration with DC, but they have also worked with and integrated characters from the Marvel Cinematic Universe, cars licensed from Ferrari, and included a character based on soccer star Neymar.

But their next event may feature the biggest name of them all. (NP)
