After a few days of shoots in a film, Cataleya Surio had all the time in the world to relax, smell the flowers, go sightseeing and swimming in the clear blue water of Catanauan, the hometown of the actress in Quezon Province.

Naku, madalang lang mangyari ang ganito. Kaya sinamantala ko na po. Masarap ang hangin sa probinsiya kaya hala, madalas ako sa may dalampasigan para mamasyal at magpahangin (Oh! This happens once in a blue moon so I take advantage of it. The breeze is quite soothing in the province so, get it on, I am always by the sea to take a walk and feel the breeze),” smiled Cataleya who after a long lockdown in Manila was able to take a breather in her coastal community where she was born.
Mabuti at may film project ako rito kaya nakapamasyal na rin ako. Nakita ko rin ang mga dati kong kaibigan at mga pinsan (It’s good that I have a film project here so I am able to pay this a visit. I am able to reunite with old friends and to bond with my cousins),” informed Surio who before venturing in showbiz graduated from Eastern Quezon College in Gumaca, Quezon.

It was the late Larry Castillo, a town mate of Cat and the enterprising producer of Brillante Ma. Mendoza who paved the way for the actress to get to the acting workshop of the internationally acclaimed director. Eventually, Surio was given roles in Brillante’s films like “Ma’ Rosa,” “Alpha, The Right to Kill” etc.

Catanauan is indeed proud of her.
