Groups supporting the National Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict in Laguna pledged commitment to support the Government in its programs and projects relative to the insurgency.

CAMP PACIANO RIZAL, Laguna - Sixty-two support groups pledged their support to government efforts to contain the Communist insurgency in a ceremony conducted at the headquarters of the Laguna Provincial Police Office (Laguna PPO) in this camp last May 12.

These groups were previously organized at the City and/or Municipal level in line with the "whole-of-nation approach" of the National Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict (NTF-ELCAC).

Deputy Provincial Director for Administration P/Lt. Col. Rodelino Benin Aspiras administered the oath-taking, which was followed by the signing of the pledge of commitment led by the chairpersons of the support groups, the Provincial Government of Laguna represented by Ms. Maricar A. Palacol, Chairperson of the Peace and Order Council, and the Provincial Command Group led by Laguna Police Provincial Director Police Colonel SERAFIN FORTUNO PETALIO II.

In her message, Maricar Palacol emphasized the importance of teamwork in attaining the government's goal to finally end the decades-long conflict with Communist rebel groups.

"The President, or the law enforcement agencies the PNP, or the AFP alone is not enough to put an end to the insurgency," Laguna Provincial Director PCol. Serafin Petalio II said during the event.

“The guns and cannons cannot do the job alone; thus, your active participation is a must – a ‘whole-of-nation approach in order for us to attain the common goal to finally end the 50-year long deceit, lies, and atrocities committed by the communist terrorists against the people," Petalio added.
