At the height of the new coronavirus pandemic in 2020 where precautionary measures were required to mitigate the spread of the virus, on and off-screen lovers Jak Roberto and Barbie Forteza immediately availed themselves of swab tests as protections at home where their loved ones move about aside from wearing masks, face shields and applying sanitizers like alcohol, liquid soaps etc.
Physical distancing was also practiced by Jak and Barbie in their respective spaces at home and elsewhere.
When the Inter-Agency Task Force on Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF-EID) and the Film Development Council of the Philippines (FDCP) with their allied state agencies like the Department of Labor and Employment (DOH), Department of Health (DOH) etc. had signaled the resumption of media work, specifically audio-visual productions with corresponding health advisories, Roberto and Forteza were the first ones to undergo swab tests before facing the cameras anew.
Then again, they wore their masks, face shields, applied sanitizers and observed social distancing even if they were lovers.
Meanwhile, with the arrival of the COVID-19 vaccine, Jak and Barbie were also the ones who came first to the vaccination center and had them jabbed together.
Now the TV and movie as youth leaders are already heaving a sigh of relief as they interact mostly with people in their respective personal spaces and workplaces.
They proudly showed their inoculation process to the public especially to their ardent fans to set a footnote to follow their decision of vaccination many Filipinos don’t want to be jabbed.
Jak is busy with his GMA Network assignments while Barbie is concentrated in her Captain Barbie series in the fantasy show “Daig Kayo ng Lola Ko” aired in Channel 7.
