The movie cameras will finally roll in for the infamous Mamasapano encounter between Muslim rebels and the Special Action Force that occurred on January 15, 2015 at the Tukanalipao Mamasapano, Maguindanao.
This was announced by publicist Mell T. Navarro in his social media account Thursday.
According to Mell, the controversial film project will be directed by award-winning director Lawrence Fajardo from the screenplay of equally prizewinning writer Eric Ramos.
Edu Manzano will portray the character of former Police Director General Benjamin Magalong while Alan Paule will breathe life to SAF Chief Getulio Napeñas and Rez Cortez will play the role of former Philippine National Police (PNP) Director General Alan Purisima.
Others in the cast include Juan Rodrigo as former Senator Mar Roxas, and the SAF soldiers to be portrayed by JC De Vera, Gerald Santos and Aljur Abrenica.
Also in the cast are Myrtle Sarrosa, Ritz Azul, Jojo Alejar, Kuya Manzano, Kate Brios, and with the special participation of Claudine Barretto (among many others).
The film will be line produced by Dennis Evangelista with Atty. Ferdinand Topacio as Executive Producer for Borracho Film Productions as its initial offering.
