MANILA – No one is exempted from the coronavirus, not even the very healthy and athletic.
Batangas Vice Gov. Mark Leviste, today, August 2, was confirmed positive of COVID-19.
He himself announce on radio this Sunday that he has contracted the virus.
Leviste said he still is asymptomatic. Immediately, he coordinated with authorities for contact tracing.
“Wala po akong nararamdaman na sintomas ng COVID-19 o anumang sakit. Fortunately, I have no co-morbidities,” Leviste said.
The vice governor added that he is bravely facing the latest challenge on his life and health and is not letting fear engulf him. “I would like to assure everyone that I can manage this.”
Leviste further said he is now taking a number of supplements such as zinc and vitamins to help his body fight the virus.
“Sa mga nakasalamuha ko nitong mga nakaraang araw, ‘wag po kayong mag-atubiling makipag-ugnayan sa akin,” he said with an air of confidence on radio.
During the interview, Leviste claimed he isolated himself away from his family since he underwent swab test on July 28, together with two household helpers.
The swab test results, which were released on Saturday, yielded positive for the vice governor.
His two household helpers, however, tested negative.
