We salute the #LivingHeroes amidst us.
In times of crisis, we encounter ordinary humans with extraordinary hearts who reach out to the needy. We search for selfless individuals around the country who serve as living examples of what heroes should be, who are doing acts of kindness to our fellowmen who need help the most.
Our “Hero of the Day” is Dr. Aileen D. Alinsub, practicing pediatrician of Sogod, Southern Leyte.
Dr. Aileen is a mother of 3 and her hands are full as Hospital Administrator of Havilah Polymedic.
Despite her busy schedule, Dr. Aileen finds time to help people in need voluntarily.
She initiates drives to help raise funds for the medical needs of indigent individuals, as well as extend assistance for the educational needs of children in her community. On top of this, Dr. Aileen works with fellow volunteers in her church.
Amid the COVID-19 crisis in he country, Dr. Aileen offers free consultation to children.
No one is left behind
To be able to do more, Dr. Aileen established a network of people to help the least, the last and the lost cope with the crisis. She believes that if their health fails, they could be the most vulnerable to COVID-19 in the community.
Dr. Aileen encourages her colleagues and peers to fight the virus together and make sure that no one, especially the poor, the weak, the young, and the elderly is left behind.
A very modest individual, when asked what a hero is, Dr. Aileen said that a hero is someone who has a heart and hands for others.
Let us give tribute to the living heroes at the frontline and those who make a difference for those affected by this crisis.
We salute you, Doc Alieen Alinsub!
