NO MORE TRIKES IN HIGHWAYS. Interior and Local Government Secretary Eduardo Año  has directed all city and town mayors to bar tricycles and pedicabs to operate on national roads and highways. While the government understands that tricycle and pedicab operation provides income to riders and their families, these pose imminent danger to other motorists and their passengers. The normal speed limit is 40kph but other vehicles run faster in the highways. Others try to outrun the others. As an example, these tricycle use the national road as a race track and occupy the whole stretch in Rd.10 Tondo, Manila, defying orders from the DILG and local government.
