Makati Mayor Abigail Binay shared the good news of reaching the city’s total revenue target in 2018.

In her State of the City Address (SOCA) on January 8 at Rigodon Ballroom, The Peninsula Manila, Binay reported that total revenues collected last year surged to P17.8 billion.

“Thanks to our dutiful taxpayers, we have surpassed last year’s revenue target by 14 percent as of December 31.  Based on the tentative full-year report submitted by the City Treasurer yesterday, our actual total revenue collections in 2018 have reached P17.8 billion,” she said.

According to Binay, the biggest share came from Business Tax, with P9.1 billion, followed by Realty Tax, with almost P6.2 billion.

Makati also reclaimed its title as the country’s richest city based on the latest report of Commission on Audit, with total assets amounting to P196.7 billion.
